    2026 Vermentino $35.00
    Current Release

    Fresh. Juicy. Sea spray.

Following on from the success of our first Vermentino in 2025 we have now added it as a permanent member of our Giro Vino range. This year we decided to explore out of Margaret River to source some amazing Vermentino fruit from Ryan Gibbs in the Ferguson Valley. Ryan’s Ayelsbury Vineyard sits tucked away in the Wellington Mill area of Ferguson Valley at an altitude of 155m and with 25kms of the cooling coastal breezes from Geographe Bay which enhances that special sea spray salinity which this varietal showcases. The Vermentino sits within our portfolio perfectly and as a stand alone for its purity of fruit and minerality. The Pinot Grigio being our fruity number, and our Fiano being our textured white. Together they form our threesome of Italian whites, the golden triangle of our range.

    2026 Pinot Grigio $30.00
    Current Release

    Fruity. Vibrant. Crisp.

We have been making Pinot Grigio with fruit from the Southern Forest wine region since 2022 and believe it grows best in this part of the south west. We are lucky to have secured epic fruit from the energetic Dave Rado of Pemberley fame. With every vintage that comes and goes, we feel we understand Pinto Grigio more and more which helps to push it further to create a wine that plays closer homage to the Pinot Grigio styles of northern Italy, whilst giving it our new world spin. The Pinot Grigio sits within our portfolio perfectly and as a stand-alone for its fruit expression of nashi pears, green apples and white peaches that combine with citrus peel and a touch of saltiness. This wine features alongside the Vermentino (expressing purity, mineral expression), and the Fiano being a textured white. Together they form our threesome of Italian whites, the golden triangle of our range.

The intent as always for our Rosé is to capture the vibe of summer livin’ down south – that uniquely summer feeling of being free and having fun. This vintage sees us return to using Sangiovese fruit for our rosé returning to a lifted red fruit aromatics, a crunchy vibrancy and a savoury edge with some subtle complexities from portions of natural barrel ferment.

    Aromatic. Savoury. Dry.

“92/8% pinot grigio/pinot blanc; co-fermented and aged in older oak. This is SBSW’s version of an orange wine, hence the Italian name, arancia. There is some skin contact, resulting in colour, but it’s not a true orange wine made with any significant time on skins (as in months), but gosh this could have taken that, I reckon. Still, this is good – more a rosé style in a way with an orangey-copper hue, enticing aromas of blossom, roses and musk with flavours of poached quince and pear, ginger spice and a touch of Angostura bitters. Light phenolics add texture and there’s lemon-zesty acidity throughout, ensuring this is super fresh.” – Jane Faulkner, Published 26 August 2024

Each year we experiment with a new variation of an orange wine – our Arancia!

This vintage, our ‘Arancia’ has been made from single vineyard Pinot Gris that was fermented on skins until dry then basket pressed and barrel matured. This wine highlights the brillant amber colour of the grapes whilst accentuating the interesting phenolic line. From grape to glass our craft is providing wine enjoyment and every bottle celebrates a little of what we love about the south west.

    Floral. Fleshy. Frisky.

“Fruit off a single vineyard, 30-year-old vines, hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed to older French oak barrels, natural fermentation then aged nine months. It’s a cracking wine. It’s salty, tangy and juicy, almost thirst quenching. A neat combo of jasmine rice, Meyer lemon, Granny Smith apple, a touch of raw quince and, of all things, a quinine character. There’s texture, a slip of phenolics and everything brought together superbly by the ultra-fine acidity.” Jane Faulkner – Halliday Wine Companion

We jumped on the Chenin craze in 2020 and haven’t looked back! Since then, we have experimented with a number of different styles, and winemaking techniques – skin contact, tank ferment, barrel ferment, short maturation, longer maturation, newer oak, neutral oak, MLF, oxidation, residual sugar…. That is the amazing thing with Chenin, it is so versatile and malleable. 2023 is our fourth vintage of Chenin, and we are still getting to know this amazing varietal. This vintage we have also ventured outside of the Margaret River region and sourced some Chenin Blanc from the historical Swan Valley wine region.

    Layered. Expressive. Complex.

The inspiration for this wine is easy. Chardonnay loves Margaret River, and Margaret River loves Chardonnay. Our love for Chardonnay is unconditional, and with love comes great respect – a respect for Margaret River as one of the best locations to grow Chardonnay in Australia. Along with a respect for the individual traits of the differing Chardonnay clones grown in the region, the subtle variance of terroir, and particularly the vintage conditions which we’re dealt. Ultimately this combines to a great respect for the critical role of winemaking great fruit into brilliant Chardonnay. Stylistically, we say the 2025 Chardonnay is a contemporary Margaret River Chardonnay with a classical edge.

    2025 Fiano $40.00
    Current Release

We are delighted to announce the addition of a textural Geographe Fiano from Ferguson Valley to our portfolio in 2025, as part of our ongoing commitment to expanding our range of Italian white varietals. Inspired by our experiences in Sicily and the renowned Planeta’s ‘Cometa’, we witnessed first-hand the incredible transformation and modernisation of Fiano. This journey highlighted not only the varietal’s flexibility in adapting to different climates but also its versatility from a winemaking perspective. Whether crafted in an intense, fruit-forward style, barrel fermented, or made oxidatively, Fiano consistently delivers a delightful spectrum of flavours.

Fiano fits seamlessly into our collection, offering a distinctive textural profile combined with vibrant tropical and citrus notes. It stands as our third Italian white variety and serves as the textural white option within our range. Accompanying our pure and lively Vermentino and our fruity yet crisp Pinot Grigio, Fiano completes our trio of Italian whites – the golden triangle of our portfolio.

    Textured. Complex. Generous.

“A red/white blend that changes according to the fruit, season and whim of Liv and Mij, the ladies behind this blend. For this vintage, it’s sangiovese, muscat and chenin blanc. It’s a most refreshing, enticing and easy-drinking offering full of juicy, crunchy red fruits, fresh herbs and a hint of reduction, which adds some meaty/savoury nuances. It’s also spicy with fragrant musk. It’s tangy and tart; it feels as though this could slake a thirst, and it’s a perfect match to antipasti.”
    – Jane Faulkner (12 August 2025)

    —-

Inspiration for this wine comes from the people! People who aren’t afraid to choose their own adventure. People who struggle to decide some days between white or red, and people who aren’t afraid to get a little chill on a red wine….

Although this blend of varietals and regions as a still dry red is a rare expression in Western Australia, red and white varietal combos are not anything new. There is the famous Rhone, Shiraz Viognier combo, in Tuscany with Sangiovese, Malvasia and/or Trebbiano going into Chianti, and of course Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay hailing from Champagne producers. These examples are distinguished old world regions and classic, traditional wines. With our Rosso Bianco we are hoping to give a new world flare to varietals that have been blended for centuries.  We are not trying to diminish or take away anything from the single varietals, but rather to show what a combination can do. Some would argue that these varietals don’t need a partnership, but Aristotle would say the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We just say give it a go and find out!

Again, we continue to the challenge the norm, by blending varietals not usually seen together. In 2021 it was Pinot Noir/Chardonnay, in 2022 it was Pinot Noir/Chenin Blanc and in 2023 it is Sangiovese/Chenin Blanc with Muscat and Pinot Grigio for added good measure! Again, there are no rules when it comes to wine and that’s what makes it fun. This is a wine you can drink with or without food, chilled or not chilled, but it will always taste better when enjoyed with friends.

    Vibrant. Lively. Fun.

“A lighter shade of ruby. The wine is light, bright and appealing. A flutter of florals, aniseed, cherries, red plums and juicy, tangy acidity with tannins feathery fine. It’s a wine that could easily be chilled on a warm day, in a Beaujolais nouveau style, enjoyed on its own or partnered with the right food to shine even more. Just a lovely drink. No complications; pleasure guaranteed.” – Jane Faulkner (12 August 2025)

    —–

Sometimes inspiration comes in the form of a rare and exciting fruit offering. This is that case. Good friends from the Swan Valley approached us and asked if we would like to share a block of organic, old bush vine grenache for vintage 2022, which if course we immediately jumped on. Being able to source fruit from a vineyard that has 68 year old bush vines, was originally horse ploughed and is currently run by the third generation of family growers is a dream situation and one that we wanted to continue in 2023. Our intent with this Grenache is to produce a light and bright style with a crunchiness that differs from the typical Frankland River or South Australian styles.

“No whole bunches this vintage but partial carbonic maceration with whole berries has resulted in a light, refreshing wine. Full of red cherries and pips, fresh basil and juicy acidity, yet there’s an appealing softness across the lighter-framed palate with fine sandpaper tannins. Highly gluggable and could even been chilled. Cheery and fun all in one glass.” – Jane Faulkner (03 December 2024)

Again, we continue to the challenge the norm for with alternate varietals, carbonic winemaking and multi-regional wine. Our vintage in Tuscany seems like a distant past memory, however the taste of a great Chianti is still very fresh in our minds and although we are not trying to replicate a Chianti, we are drawing on the traditional techniques we acquired from our time in Tuscany and putting our new world, contemporary spin on the varietal. This is our fifth vintage of Sangiovese, and each year we are understanding the fruit more and more and how we can keep building on this Aussie styled Sangio. In 2019 we started with 10% whole bunch, in 2020 we doubled it to 20%, in 2021 we doubled it again to 40%, 2022 was 100% whole bunch and in 2023 we have gone no whole bunches and instead, selectively harvested it to under go partial carbonic with whole berries only to really embrace the lightness and freshness we experienced in vintage 2023.

This is our expression of this variety. Our Sangiovese aims to showcase a fruit forward wine with varietal tannins and great natural acidity. By embracing carbonic maceration our Sangiovese has earnt the title of ‘Juicy Banger’ and is the perfect fresh, juicy wine to go with friends and food all year round.

    Vivacious. Juicy. Playful.

    2023 Pinot Noir $40.00
    Current Release

2023 marks our sixth vintage of making Pinot Noir. This year marks the second consecutive vintage sourcing fruit from the same vineyard in the Pemberton area within the Southern Forest region. This Pinot Noir is a conferment of two clones – 114 and 115. Over the six vintage we have been fortunate to work with a number of Pinot Noir clones and after a couple of years of understanding 114 and 115 we feel the Aristotle phrase, ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ applies here with the 114 providing the aromatic line and the 115 providing the structure to combine and produce a delicate and joyful expression of Pinot Noir in a bright and lifted style.

“The second Reserve to date, essentially a barrel selection plus the inclusion of 40% whole bunches in the ferment. Tightly wound, with the acidity and raw-silk-like tannins not quite in tandem, still finding its groove. If drinking today, give this lots of breathing space; it’ll reveal stewed rhubarb and strawberry compote, fresh basil, Moroccan mint and a dusting of woodsy spices. Lighter-framed, refreshing and energising, but another year or so in bottle will help.” – Jane Faulkner (04 October 2024)

Our 2023 single vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir is produced from fruit sourced from the Pemberton wine region. The fruit, which was an even blend of clones 114 & 115, was harvested late in March and 40% was fermented as whole bunches to provide additional fragrance, flavour, and complexity to the wine. The wine was then matured in French oak barriques for 9 months prior to bottling.

“A new wine in the ever-expanding, always exciting Italian range from SBSW. This is excellent. The variety has the most brilliant purple hue so it entices at first pour, followed by swooning aromas of florals, pepper, cardamon and some licorice, with warm earth and fresh herbs. There’s a lot going on in this wine. Fuller bodied, rich and ripe without being too much of a good thing, and then the tannins kick in, coating and gripping the palate. It feels good with refreshing, light acidity and pops of sweet fruit. My fav montepulciano on the Aussie landscape, sourced from a single vineyard in a lovely place called Hoffman.” – Jane Faulkner (06 May 2025)

After close to a decade hassling out the lovely Mark Cumbers of Vineyard 28 fame, for the Italian varietals he grows in the Geographe wine region, in 2024 he finally caved and offered us a small parcel of Montepulciano (and Barbera) from the truly beautiful Wildwater Vineyard in Hofman in the Harvey Hills.  We are very humbled to have now contracted this fruit resource going forward and are very excited to be adding a Montepulciano into our portfolio of wines going forward as it really strengthens our focus on Italian varietal wines and provides some breadth within our range.

“What’s pleasing about this blend? It’s savoury, tangy and juicy with an Italianate feel overall. It’s not fruit driven, although pops of cherries and plums are in the mix. It’s more blood orange and chinotto, twiggy and sappy with sinewy tannins and perky acidity. It’s a food wine, in the true sense, as this comes into its own with rich, hearty fare. I like it.”

Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion (15 September 2025)

    Fruity. Supple. Structured.

After close to a decade hassling out the lovely Mark Cumbers of Vineyard 28 fame for some Italian varietals he had in the Geographe wine region, in 2024 he finally caved and offered us a small parcel of Barbera (and Montepulciano) from the truly beautiful Wildwater Vineyard in Hofman in the Harvey Hills.

Blending Barbera and Nebbiolo together in lower yielding vintages like 2024 made sense. They are two varietals from the same region in Italy that often get blended and as always we find blends to be quite interesting. Combining two or more grapes often brings out the best in each, resulting in a very balanced wine. We found this very true for the blend between Barbera and Nebbiolo!

We are very humbled to have now contracted this Barbera fruit resource going forward and are very excited to be adding a Barbera Nebbiolo into our portfolio of wines going forward as it really strengthens our focus on Italian varietal wines and provides some breadth within our range.

Our 2024 ‘Super Margs’ continues to draw influence from the highly sought after and respected Super Tuscan wines of Italy, which are typically made from Sangiovese and blended with non-indigenous varieties, in our case, the king of the Reds in Margaret River – Cabernet Sauvignon. This is out fifth vintage of this wine and we have ‘upped the ante’ and taken it a step further by sourcing and then hand selecting the best fruit along with the barrels for this wine. This vintage all the fruit has been sourced from the Wilyabrup sub region of Margaret River. The wine is again bottled with cork to highlight the rare expression, elegance and sophistication of this wine style as well as giving the old world style a little nod.

    Savoury. Plush. Elegant.
