2025 Pinot Grigio $30.00
Fruity. Vibrant. Crisp.
We have been making Pinot Grigio since 2022 from a vineyard in Pemberton called Koomal Creek, but due to the popular demand for the wine, as well as our quest to continually improve and better our wines, we have entered into a contract with Pemberly of Pemberton to secure Pinot Grigio from there going forward. With every vintage that come and goes, we feel we understand the varietal a bit more which helps us to create a wine that plays closer homage to the Pinot Grigio styles of northern Italy, whilst giving it our new world spin. We are excited to work with this new fruit parcel going forward and watch the wine continue to grow and come of age with each vintage.

After coming off one of the earliest and quickest vintages ever of 2024, 2025 presented as a more ‘classical vintage’. A wet, cool to moderate winter and spring set a good foundation for vineyards that have been drained from the previous warmer vintage. Summer was a moderate, gradual warm up which provided for good time on vines for varietals, like the Pinot Grigio to really develop some good flavours.
The fruit for the 2025 Pinot Grigio come from a single vineyard site in Pemberton called Pemberly. The fruit was machine harvested in late February and also includes approximately 10% of co-harvested Pinot Blanc in the parcel as well (as per previous years).
The fruit was chilled and pressed off skins in a bladder press after 8 hours of skin contact with the free run portion going to a stainless steel tank and inoculated with a natural yeast for fermentation. The pressings were fined, then barrelled down after settling, to provide some extra texture and weight. Maturation in these vessels was for three months, prior to being lightly fined, filtered and then bottled early to preserve the aromatics and freshness of this wine.
In a glass this wine presents with a very pale straw / copper colour. On the nose it displays an orchard fruit dominance with gentle citrus aromatics. The palate expresses fresh pear and honeysuckle characters and has a lasting mouthfeel.
